Creative, Data-tech, Project Manager, Chief Data Officer, Web Developer… as every month, we present you a talent of the agency. See you this month with Sylvain Desfachelles, Data Engineering Manager.
I am in charge of the Data Engineering division at the Lille and Limonest branches. Our main mission is to collect, process and secure our customers’ data and make it available for other services. The data must be of high quality so that teams can process and use it.
My role is to manage the teams in Lille, Limonest and Technical Support (customer service) and to monitor ongoing projects. I also take care of the training part and help employees to develop their skills.
When we were still Golden Eyes, we only had retail customers. The alliance of the 2 agencies has broadened our spectrum of activities and fields of action, and we now have clients from multiple sectors of activity, which is really a great plus.
Secondly, I would say that since we provide our clients with tailor-made solutions to their needs, we operate in a very diverse environment; which is a real challenge on a daily basis since we have to adapt to each case!
Finally, autonomy and transparency are promoted among employees, combined with the conviviality that prevails in the agency, we really enjoy coming to work.
Olivier Marquis, my director, and Cyrille Peixoto. We arrived together in 2011 when the context was not very simple, and there was still everything to build. From the beginning, we’ve been working together, sticking together. We’re a real trinomial now.
A few years ago, we had a customer case that left a huge mark on us. We had to produce a huge amount of work on the data in a very short period of time, and we spent whole evenings there. We stayed at the office at night and ordered pizzas… it allowed us to strengthen the bonds!
Otherwise, more generally, there are a lot of external events that contribute to the great atmosphere of the agency (paintball, ski outings, barbecues…).
My greatest passion is basketball. I’ve been doing it since I was 7-8 years old, I’ve played to a certain level[Editor’s note: Pre-national for connoisseurs], I’ve passed my training and basketball coaching diplomas… Plus I’m tall, so it helps me a lot. *Laughter*
As for associative commitment, I participated in the creation and development of the Lyme association’s website, my fight for life. It is an association created with my best childhood friend who has this disease. When we founded this association in 2011, this disease was still unknown, taboo, and our goal was really to talk about it and make it known to as many people as possible.
